FAQ
What is your fee for sessions?
My current fee is $200 for Individual and $250 for Couples per 50 minute session. I do offer a limited number of needs-based, sliding scale spots at a reduced fee.
Do you accept insurance?
I am considered an out-of-network provider. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits and options for possible reimbursement of your session fee. There are two ways I can support you in utilizing your out-of-network benefits for covering sessions: providing you Superbills for you to submit to insurance, or I will file your claims on your behalf for reimbursement to you, through the use of a billing service I’ve partnered with.
Please know, I cannot make any guarantee of how much an insurance company will reimburse; we can run a check to confirm what your insurance can provide before starting therapy so you have a clear expectation around the financial requirement.
Can you please explain superbills?
Of course! A superbill is essentially an invoice that shows all of your sessions attended in a month and how much you have paid. Superbills are automatically emailed to you monthly. When utilizing superbills, you are responsible for paying the full cost of your session fee at the time of session. You are then responsible submitting a claim to your insurance. Based on your plan and coverage, your insurance company will send reimbursement for your sessions directly to you.
What about the option to have you file my sessions to insurance?
I utilize a billing company that acts as the “in-between” between you and me, and your insurance provider. Upon set up, you can choose to either pay the full fee amount and receive reimbursement at a later date, or pay only your portion, known as a copay or co-insurance*, no need to wait for reimbursement. [*Note: you may be required to meet a deductible first, depending on your plan’s benefits and policies.]
Do you see clients in-person?
Yes, if you are also local to Orange County, we can meet at my office space in Irvine for sessions.
Do you see clients virtually?
Yes! As a licensed therapist in California, I can work with clients who are also residents of California.
What if I live outside of California?
Clinical licensing requirements vary state-to-state, and country-to-country. I am currently only licensed to work with residents of the state of California in a therapeutic capacity. However, if you are interested in working together, and you do not live in California, we can discuss working together through my certification as a Health Coach. Coaching services will differ from psychotherapy. If you are interested in this option, I encourage you to reach out and we can explore your specific support needs and goals further.
